Chartered Financial Analyst

The CFA® Programme bridges current practice, investment theory, and ethical and professional standards to provide investment analysis and portfolio management skills.

The Chartered Financial Analyst® (CFA) credential has become one of the most respected and recognized investment designation in the world; enrolling in the CFA® Program is your first step toward earning this qualification.

The CFA® Program curriculum covers concepts and skills you will use at all stages of your career, connecting academic theory with current practice and ethical and professional standards to provide a strong foundation of advanced investment analysis and real-world portfolio management skills.

The Programme includes three levels of exams. All exams are obligatory – without exemptions.

•Level I tests your knowledge of the ethical and professional standards.
(basic knowledge and comprehension questions focused on investment tools; some questions will require analysis.)

•Level II tests how you apply those standards to situations analysts face.
(emphasize more complex analysis, along with a focus on valuing assets.)

•Level III tests how you apply the standards in a portfolio management and compliance context.
(synthesis of all the concepts and analytical methods in a variety of applications for effective portfolio management and wealth planning.)

The applicants must comply to the following requirements:
have a Bachelor’s degree or be in the final year of your bachelor’s degree
have four years of qualified, professional work experience
have a combination of work and college experience of at least four yearsIn addition you must:
> meet the CFA® professional conduct admission criteria
> be prepared to take the examinations in English
> have a valid international travel passport.

Exams Format

(exams take place on fixed dates in the months June and December):

  • Level I: multiple choice (240 questions for 6 hours)
  • Level II and III Item Set Questions
  • Level III includes 2 sessions:
    1) constructed response questions (morning) and
    2) item set questions (afternoon – essay style)

Exam Registration Fees and Deadlines
All registration deadlines end at 11:59 pm ET.

June 2020 Exams (Levels I, II and III)
Early registration fee US$ 700 (ends 2 October)
Standard registration fee US$ 1,000 (ends 12 February)
Late registration fee US$ 1,450 (ends 11 March)
